Honda HR-V

Standing for “high-riding revolutionary vehicle”, the Honda HR-V small SUV was introduced in 1999 and was sold in other markets as the ZR-V and Vezel in its native Japan.

In its first generation, the model was offered as an unorthodox three-door hatchback alongside a more conventional five-door. The two succeeding generations were offered as five-door only, though both incorporated a concealed rear door design as a nod to the original.

For its most recent (third) generation, Honda Australia introduced the HR-V as a mild hybrid for the first time, alongside just one other variant – the 1.5-litre petrol Vi-X. Neither are offered as an all-wheel drive and the HR-V cabin is limited to a maximum of four people.
